Gerrietta Ver Hage (Loeks), age 95, of Hudsonville, passed away at Hospice House of Holland on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin on December 10, 1977 and her Son Howard on December 25, 1978. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Janice) Ver Hage of Hudsonville, Ernest Ver Hage of Hudsonville, Robert Ver Hage of North Muskegon, Richard (Linda) Ver Hage of Lowell; daughter in law, Darlene Ver Hage and sister Viola Padding of Jenison; in-laws Millie Slotman, Don Ver Hage, Judy Ver Hage and Lavern (Jill) Ver Hage. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring Christian mother. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano in church. She also enjoyed singing with her sisters and husband. When she couldn't sing she loved listening to many of the traditional hymns. She will be greatly missed, but always remembered for what a great Christian role model she was to her children, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 P.M. at the Zutphen Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Josh Van Drunen officiating. Interment Zutphen Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the VanderLaan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.

Gerrietta was born on July 11, 1916 to Henry and Ella Loeks. As a family, her six sisters helped work on the farm.
She married Martin Ver Hage on June 8, 1939. They began their life farming in Hudsonville, where they raised their five boys. The farm has grown and to this day is still being operated by family.
Along with helping on the farm and being a wonderful mother, she enjoyed playing the organ and piano in church. She also enjoyed singing with her six sisters and husband. When she couldn't sing, she loved listening to many of the traditional hymns.
Last year she was able to celebrate her 95th birthday with her family and friends while still living in her own home.
She will be greatly missed, but always remembered for what a great Christian role model she was to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
